I am live blogging from WordCamp NYC,  please excuse any typos or less polished text.

A cool demo session with a quick run through cool plugins for WordPress:

Smart commenting – IntenseDebate – demo by @beaulebens better and easier way to manage your comments. Includes plugin to FacebookConnect, Twitter, etc; includes reply and moderate by email; spell check ; ban users; auto approval based on reputation points; aggregated profile page with all your comments.

Add Content @vegasgeek showing a plugin he developed for LOLCats (LOLpress.com. showing how you can add text to pictures to make them LOLable.

eCommerce plugin for small businesses: Shopp – tool to add eCommerce, using ‘smart categories’ ; manage customers; adding promotions to products with promo codes and bulk sales; inventory management; adding image, details and specs; paypal and secured transactions.  $55 per site.

Smart SpellChecker: After The Deadline - a really great presentation by Raffi of check spelling, style, grammar.  It has a cool ‘did you mean’ predicting what you are about to write based on contextual analysis, that offers the different meanings of different suggestions. You can customize tips on style (negatives, passive voice, etc).

Recommended Reading – for Google Reader by @Jakemgold what the plugin does is takes your subscribed feeds in Google Reader, filter by topic, pull i into a widget on the blog. You can share notes tied to the feed, define publish dates so it is not in real time.
